Soap-And-Water Body Wipes, Showers Fight Skin Infections in Young Wrestlers

A study published in the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, revealed that the use of soap-and-water body wipes, along with showering after competitions, helped decrease the number of skin infections found in high-school wrestlers. Researchers came to this conclusion after following 151 high-school wrestlers from Minnesota during two months in 2010. The soap-and-water wipes were able to eradicate bacteria, fungus, and viruses from the skin, whereas alcohol wipes could not eradicate spore-based organisms.
