Review Adds Support To Association Between Psoriasis, Diabetes.

According to a review of 27 studies published online Oct. 15 in the Archives of Dermatology, people who have psoriasis may also have a 59% increased likelihood of developing diabetes than people who do not suffer from the skin condition. The review’s authors theorized that psoriasis causes an inflammation which may heighten the risk for diabetes as well as for stroke and heart disease. The investigators recommended that physicians screen psoriasis patients for diabetes.
