Psoriasis May Increase Risk Of Other Serious Diseases

University of Pennsylvania researchers have found that psoriasis “sufferers may be at a higher risk for other serious diseases affecting vital organs like the heart, lungs and kidneys.” The piece notes that “the new study involved more than 9,000 people with psoriasis,” and researchers “found psoriasis raised risk for all sorts of diseases, including chronic pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, mild liver disease, heart attacks, peripheral vascular disease, peptic ulcers, kidney disease and other rheumatologic diseases like arthritis.”
