Prostate Cancer Patients May Face Increased Risk Of Future Melanoma

Men with prostate cancer may face an increased risk for developing melanoma. Researchers analyzed two data sets from other projects to find the relationship between the two cancers. Both studies focused on healthcare providers, with one involving 42,400 white men aged between 40 and 75 and the other studying 18,600 physicians. The team “also observed a relationship between prostate cancer and a higher risk of non-melanoma skin cancer [but] that associated risk bump was deemed to be considerably lower than the increased risk for melanoma itself.
