Botox®

Botox® is an anti-aging injectable that's used to smooth away wrinkles, fine lines, and creases along the forehead and around the eyes (crow's feet). Botox® is commonly used to treat the area between the eyebrows, the forehead, and around the eyes. Botox® can also be used to treat excessive sweating and chronic migraine headaches.

How It Works

Botox® contains a neurotoxin that interrupts the signal between the brain and nerve endings. When this interruption occurs, the muscles become relaxed. As a result, skin laying atop the muscle becomes smoothed over, resulting in a noticeable decrease in wrinkles and fine lines. Botox® is directly injected via a fine-tip needle into the treatment area. There's only minor discomfort during the procedure. Patients can request a topical anesthetic if necessary.

Area It Treats

Botox® is most commonly used to treat the following areas:

  • Forehead
  • Around the eyes

Botox® is an excellent solution for frown lines, crow's feet, and drooping eyebrows. Botox can also be used as a solution for excessive sweating in the hands, feet and armpits.

Benefits

You should see results a few days after your injection, with optimal results visible a couple of weeks after the treatment. Results typically last between three to six months.
