FDA Warns L’Oreal Over Anti-Wrinkle Product Claims

The FDA warned L’Oréal’s Lancôme USA subsidiary that its online ads falsely promotes anti-wrinkle products as having medical benefits. Quoting from the Warning Letter, the Journal notes that FDA particularly objected to Lancôme’s claim that one of the anti-aging products “boosts the activity of genes and stimulates the production of youth proteins.” The AP adds that the Warning Letter “instructs the company to respond to regulators in 15 business days with a plan for correcting the language” in website ads for “Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate and similar anti-wrinkle cosmetics.”
